What pot to choose when planting plants?

We have a large selection of pots and casings on the market. On the one hand, there are traditional brick-colored plastic ones, on the other hand, they are decorative, original. There are typical casings (without a hole) and pots or pots with the possibility of drainage of excess water.

We can choose from ceramic, plastic, metal and plastic pots (type - wicker, coconut, grass).

The most popular are ceramic or plastic pots and casings.

Ceramic pots (glazed, unglazed) due to their properties evaporate water faster. If the pot is to stand outside, choose frost-resistant materials. If the pot will stand in the sun, avoid dark colors so that it does not heat up too quickly.

Plastic pots - its best features are low price and lightness, unfortunately, when we want to insert a heavy plant and large dimensions, it will be necessary to load it with stones.

Wooden pots (also wicker) - tasteful and fashionable for the garden, but not only. From different types of trees. The best are those made of exotic materials, because they do not require impregnation. Before pouring the soil, it is good to cover it with foil with holes.

Metal pots - resistant to weather conditions, light and comfortable.

The pot should be wider at the top than at the bottom. Deep in a similar ratio of dimensions as wide.

If the pot does not have a hole, it is necessary to pour a layer of drainage that will absorb moisture, drainage and chicken eggshells will be a good solution. In the casing (pot without a hole) we can also put a plastic pot with a hole - which is the best and simplest solution.

After buying pots and casings from the store, wash them well (e.g. with potassium soap) and soak them in water.
